GOTS 'Eco Parter' of Interstoff Asia Essential

We are pleased to announce that the International Working Group on Global Organic Textile Standard entered into a partnership with Messe Frankfurt (HK) Ltd for the Interstoff Asia Essential trade fair.

Being the first specialized show in Asia, Interstoff plays a leading role in promoting eco textiles in trade fairs. In order to support this development the International Working Group has confirmed its contribution to and participation in the Interstoff Asia Essential as official ‘Eco Partner’.

In the context of this partnership several special features and events will be offered at the upcoming Interstoff Asia Essential Spring taking place at the Hong Kong Convention & Exhibition Centre from 14 – 16 March 2012.

Special Conditions for GOTS Licensees

An attractive package deal including an exclusive 15% discount on the exhibition fee for ‘early bird’ bookings until 30th December 2011 is specially designed for the joining GOTS licensees. For bookings after 30th December 2011 GOTS licensees still receive 10% discount on the exhibition fee.

Seminar: Information about GOTS

Exhibitors and visitors are invited to join the Interstoff Asia’s seminar programme. For example at the previous fair the following presentation about GOTS have been given:

Content: GOTS is the processing standard for textiles made with organic fibres that provides for environmental and social criteria, covers all processing and trading stages and requires independent inspection and certification. The seminar provides for a general introduction to the program and its criteria, strives the general legal labelling requirements for ‘organic textiles’ in the sales markets USA, EU and Japan and explains the specific certification and labelling requirements for textiles labelled according to GOTS.

While admission to the seminar is free, it is recommended to register as limited space is available.

GOTS Information Film

GOTS has developed an informational film highlighting the ecological and social demands of the standard, providing insight into the practical inspection, testing and certification work and informing about its benefits for the industry and the consumers. The film will be shown during the  fair and visitors and exhibitors can pick up a complementary copy of the film - that is now also available with Chinese subtitles - at the GOTS booth.

At the GOTS booth exhibitors and visitors can meet the GOTS coordinator, Herbert Ladwig, for an individual talk and use the GOTS public data base to search for GOTS certified entities, their processes and products.

At Interstoff Asia Essential – Spring 2011 209 exhibitors from 11 countries presented their range of fashion, functional and eco fabrics as well as textile related accessories to more than 7000 buyers. Majority of the buyers were garment manufacturers while the remaining were from trading companies, design houses, buying offices, retailers as well as other industry related professional service companies. Buyers recorded on-site included adidas, Benetton, Burberry, Coach, Columbia, Donna Karen, Giorgio Armani Group, Hermes-OTTO, H & M, L.L Bean, Li Ning Sports, Marks & Spencer, Next, Polo Ralph Lauren, Reitmans, The Swank, Toppy, True Religion, Triumph, Wacoal, Zara as well as several buying offices such as Li & Fung, Mast Industries, ZTAMPZ and many more.
